It's been a few weeks since I last wrote. I've had a slight case of writers' block. This isn't to say things have been boring or sedate, that just wouldn't be my life. I'm still working with Sadist twice a week and wondering about my sanity at the same time. I'm definitely seeing a difference in both my abilities and my appearance. For the first time in a long while, I'm not cringing as I see myself working out in the mirror. What I see isn't all that bad looking. Instead of seeing someone who looks rather dumpy, I'm seeing someone who looks more athletic. During the holiday season I had really fallen off my cardio routine. Of course I continued to work with the Sadist, but that wasn't enough. Add the whole holiday season eating and well you can guess how well my progress was going or in this case not going. It's nice to see I am making progress. I'm back to exercising one way or another most days except for Sunday. I figure I deserve a break now and again. Even on the cold and blustery days it is both energizing and relaxing. Is that even possible? Can you be energized and relaxed at the same time? That is something to ponder. Also, could it be that I am starting to enjoy working out? I can't believe it. I've spent months proclaiming my utter dislike of getting up off my corner of the couch. The Sadist and I have an ongoing discussion in which he says I LOVE working out and I strongly deny that feeling. Even if I am starting to enjoy it, there is no way I am telling him. He would never let me forget it and would figure out ways to constantly remind me in the most annoying ways possible.
During today's torture session I was working out on the squat machine and he continued to add more and more weight. When I asked if he was trying to make me shorter, he told me that I already was getting shorter. I am not old enough to be shrinking significantly already but it seems he is trying to speed it up. We also did some suspension exercises. On my 2nd time through the mini circuit I asked if he had added weight. With a smile he said he increased the gravitational pull in the room. Although that is impossible it sure did feel like it. Again, I'm going to be feeling this all tomorrow and the next day. Just as the pain stops, it'll be time to start all over again. Okay, I may need to rethink this enjoying exercising. If he is a Sadist and I keep going back knowing I'm going to be in pain, what does that make me?
Tomorrow, rain or shine, it is off the the park for some interval training or at the very least a nice brisk walk. I love heading to the park, it really has made exercising a lot better.
